Welcome

I'd like to welcome you to my money saving blog and hope you choose to follow along and save with me. My name is Kelly and I'm married with 5 children. We live in Northwest Ohio and I stay at home with the kids while my husband is a restaurant manager. I'm able and willing to work but with the cost of daycare we'd be in the same financial position if I did work as we are now so why not enjoy the little monsters while I can. Since I have two more years of playtime with the kids before my youngest goes to school, I've decided to use coupons, reward programs, rebates, and whatever else I can find to save money. I'm rolling out 2010 with a new attitude and money saving resolution.


I've used coupons for a long time but just recently decided to hit it hard and consistantly. I've also found other ways to get extra money out of my shopping trips and even items for FREE!


I've divided my site into sections so feel free to click away and find where the deals are for you.


This is what I've done so far to start off on the right foot:


Opened two new bank accounts. I opened a checking and a savings account on-line with Bank of America. The monthly maintenance fees are waved because the accounts were opened on-line. I'll never have to pay for the accounts. I added on their Keep the Change program also for free and each time I use my debit card for purchases it's rounded up to the nearest dollar and the "leftover" change is rolled into the savings account. I have it set to have $100 directly deposited into the checking each week and will use that for my store purchases and the change will roll into the savings. My rebate checks and reward checks get deposited into the savings account. The reason I chose this bank is because it's 30 minutes away from me and if I don't have easy access, I'm not tempted!


Started earning with Swagbucks. On October 26th I signed up with Swagbucks to earn Amazon and Paypal giftcards. By December 13 I had already earned 5 $5 Amazon cards and 1 $25 Amazon card. They were used to pay for half of my sons Christmas present and now I'll start cashing them in for next Christmas.
